Leadership & Management staff success at Allan Webb Ltd

A supplier of translation and logistic support services to government and industry clients throughout the UK and Europe has put a team through a leadership and team skills programme.

Eleven of Stonehouse-based Allan Webb’s employees went through various levels of leadership, management and team skills ILM qualifications. Five members of staff took their ILM Level 2 Leadership and Team Skills qualification, eight took their ILM Level 3 Leadership and Management and one took his ILM Level 3 in Coaching.

The training was undertaken by Gloucestershire Enterprise Ltd (GEL), which said the candidates from Allan Webb “had a great attitude and were a great reflection on the company”. The courses took eight months and finished in July, with the staff receiving their results last week.

“The course was condensed, so the staff had less time than usual to complete their assignments,” said managing director of Allan Webb, Steve Rigsby. “I was impressed with how they kept up with the workload. “The assignments focused on processes in place in the business, so they can take their training and directly apply it to the workplace.

“We’re already lining up our next stage of training with GEL. We’re looking at putting our leadership team through additional qualifications, including Level 5 ILM qualifications and at least one MBA.” He added: “We know that training our staff gives us better, more qualified people to ensure we’re doing the best possible work for our customers.”

ILM provides qualifications in leadership and management, coaching and mentoring and specialist areas such as social enterprise. It accredits 2,500 training experts to deliver qualifications globally.
