Project Management Qualification (PMQ)
Who should attend?
This course is aimed at those wishing to achieve a broad level of project management knowledge. The skills can be applied to projects of all sizes, from small to large capital projects.
Suitable roles include work-package lead / managers, project office / coordinators, project or programme office managers, project managers and senior project managers.
It is particularly suitable to those with 6-months project management experience who would like to gain a formal qualification.

It is designed to improve the skills of project management staff to enable them, through good project management practice, to make sound business decisions and thereby manage their projects to a successful conclusion.
Course outline
The course builds on existing knowledge and experience and attendees will learn how to better plan, control and monitor their projects including risk and financial analysis together with reporting on progress. Interpersonal skills such as negotiation techniques and managing stakeholders are also covered.
The course uses case study examples, exercises and sample PMQ questions to reinforce the learning.
GEL recommends that learners achieve the Project Management Fundamentals (PFQ) qualification beforehand.

Learning outcomes are aligned to the APM Body of Knowledge 7th edition and covers the syllabus for the PMQ examination:

Assessment
The qualification is assessed through a three-hour exam paper (with a additional 30 minute break midway through the exam) where candidates must answer 40 questions. Question styles will be a mix of multiple, missing word questions and short answer questions.
The exam is online and can be booked on demand via APM. The exam will be invigilated remotely using ProctorU and you will require a laptop/pc, webcam and mobile phone with camera.
An additional exam registration fee of £531 will apply.
